Alta Gama Rum Venezuela Rum Aged 15 Years

This rum originates from Venezuela in South America. It was distilled in a continuous column still from a molasses-based fermentation back in 2005 at Corporation Alcoolés del Caribe distillery. After that it was matured for twelve years on sight and then shipped to England for further maturation. This rum has aged for a total of 15 years and has been bottled as a single cask rum at cask strength at 60 % ABV. There is only bottled 271 copies of this beautiful beast.

ESSENTIA 1 is the first single cask series by Alta Gama Rum. The series contains three single cask rums from Barbados, Venezuela and El Salvador. Each one is bottled at cask strength with no added sugar, color or water, which highlights the natural flavours of matured rum.

In the nose you will find roasted coffee beans as well as sweet sugar cane molasses, burned wood, dark chocolate, cacao and toffee. The flavor components are well balanced and offers a nice sweetness with burned cane sugar, raspberries, citrus and dark chocolate. This rum has a nice viscosity and leaves you mouth nice and oily.
